Eleven years ago the Presbyterian Church in America began a fruitful movement for the gospel in Puerto Rico:

We want to invite you to be a part of what God is doing by partnering with us for the next 5 years.

Iglesia Comunión began meeting in 2021 in another church building in the city of Caguas, Puerto Rico. What started with a 12-member core group is already bearing visible fruit. Today we have a group of around 60 individuals that regularly attend on Sundays, who most of them are actively involved in the life of our community.

We are currently raising funds to support the next five years of Iglesia Comunión’s ministry. These resources will allow the church to cover administrative expenses and begin renting its own space (we are already in the process of preparing the building we plan to use next) which will support midweek ministries and deeper community engagement. In addition, we are intentionally investing in the training of prospective leaders who will serve as Ruling Elders, Teaching Elders, and Deacons, with the goal of being properly ordered and prepared to move toward particularization as a PCA church in the near future.

By God’s grace, Iglesia Comunión has already developed a leadership pipeline of four interns who are being prepared as future church planters or ministry leaders across the island. Two have completed their theological seminary training, and two are currently pursuing their seminary studies. This long-term vision of cultivating faithful, theologically trained leaders, rooted in the local church and committed to the mission of God in Puerto Rico, flows from our desire to establish a healthy, well-governed congregation that honors Christ and serves His people faithfully.

This year, Iglesia Comunión also plans to launch several community service initiatives aimed at serving our neighbors and reaching new believers. As we continue to grow, we are prayerfully discerning where the Lord may be leading us to pursue our next church plant, trusting His guidance as we seek to participate faithfully in the expansion of Christ’s Church on the island.
